Bramshaw Golf Club tee1up played it July 2002
 tee1up rating 7/10 .
Bramshaw Golf Club is situated in the New Forest in Hampshire and has two 18 hole courses the Manor and the Forest . The club at Brook is just off junction 2 of the M27 that takes you through the New Forest and can be found hidden behind the Bell Inn. The clubhouse is fairly modern building with good facilities and a fully stocked pro shop; it also has an elevated bar/restaurant which overlooks the Manor course so when you enjoy your meal you can watch other players finishing their games.

The Forest course which is just across the road from the clubhouse is the oldest course in Hampshire and was designed as early golfers had intended, using the natural contours of the New Forest using the humps, hollows and sudden changes in elevation. As the course is situated in the New Forest boundary you will notice this is free grassing for all animals so you will come across all sorts of natural hazard including balls plugged into cow pats. The course has a number of streams that come into play some of which cross the front and behind the greens to protect them; there are three holes that stand out for me as good examples of this. The fifth a short blind par 3 with a sunken green and a stream at the back to catch any ball that is too long or short which rolls down the hill and across the green. The sixth is a very difficult par 4 with a tee shot that needs to accurate and long enough to leave you with a shot to a sunken green protected by a stream that weaves its way in front of the green and the eleventh a long par 4 with an awkward blind second shot to a sunken green with a stream running in the valley just in front of the green. The course finishes with a fairly long par 4 most of which is up hill and passes the cricket pitch and leaves you with a second shot to a green elevated at the top of the hill.

The Manor course is in total contrast to the Forest course built in 1970 is a typical green parkland course lined with mature trees and difficult doglegs and the occasional ditch to catch you out. Although as not as interesting as the Forest course it has some lovely holes to excite you. The 2nd Hole a tough par 5 with a ditch across the front of the green, the 6th a dogleg right with ditches either side of the fairway and the 14th a dogleg right with ditches everywhere including one across the fairway. The course finishes with a lovely par four sharp dog leg right you will need a very accurate tee shot to have a  chance of hitting the green down by the club house.
