On paper this course looked as if it would be a real challenge with water everywhere and with the boast of American greens what more could you ask for, only I wished I packed some garden sheers before out trip to this club close to London. I am thankful I was lucky enough not to get into the same trouble as my playing partners one of which lost eight balls on his trip round the eighteen holes. To say the rough was rough would have been an under statement in places it was above my knees just off the fairway which meant finding anything slightly of line was a complete waste of time. I think if I wasn’t distracted by looking for so many golf balls on every hole and the fact that we had a bunch of absolute beginners sharing clubs in front of us for twelve of the eighteen holes I would have more to say about the course.
